Laughing Matters #1 and #2

-Watching people frantically but futilely press crosswalk or elevator buttons repeatedly over a short time interval, as if it will make the light change or doors close faster.

I think it gives them something to do in the elevator. Especially elevators with mirror walls.

This way, you can avoid:
1) The prospect of standing still and trying to find an interesting spot on the elevator wall to stare at;
2) Your fellow-passengers' eyes, and the possibility of them starting up a doomed, stilted conversation.
