TXCCC

Looking for another way to give this season or throughout the year? Perhaps you'd like to donate to the cause of finding better treatments and ways to care for children with cancer, who may be waking up on Christmas morning in a hospital bed connected to tubes and monitors, or who may not have a chance to live a normal childhood.

Texas Children's Cancer Center at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston is the #1 pediatric cancer hospital in Texas, and #4 in the nation. Much of the work that I do is associated with research projects taking place at the center, so I know firsthand that the work that they're doing is exceptionally important.

Click here to see a short video of how some of their physicians and scientists are impacting the lives of children and their families. Several of the physicians that you will see are a few who I have worked/work closely with.

Take a moment to browse www.txccc.org. Perhaps you will be able to find my personal page!

Operation Christmas Child

One of the many things I love to do every year is pack up a shoebox for a ministry of Samaritan's Purse : Operation Christmas Child. Every Christmas, Samaritan's Purse ships thousands of boxes to children across the globe who otherwise would not have anything for Christmas.

This year, Nate helped me pack up a box. We chose to give to a boy aged 10-14. Check out the goodies!

This is a really fun thing to do and in the end you can be confident that you will make one child's Christmas brighter. Hurry! You can still make a box through Nov 23.

Samaritan's Purse also offers a gift catalog for the Christmas Season where you can purchase items such as a goat, mosquito nets, or contribute to needs such as education and medical aid for those in need. What a great way to make a charitable donation this Christmas!

Plug for COG

As part of my job I do quite of bit of collaborative work with COG (Children's Oncology Group). It is really rewarding knowing that I am contributing in some small way to finding cures for childhood cancer.

If you're looking for a way to donate to a cancer research organization, consider CureSearch. Click here for a link to some family testimonies of how COG has contributed to the lives of children with cancer and their families.
